Úloha a možnosti patológa v onkológii

Cieľom predloženého článku je prehľadná analýza a sumarizácia úloh a možností modernej patológie v procese diagnostiky nádorového ochorenia, pri voľbe jeho optimálneho terapeutického manažmentu a pri sledovaní priebehu nádorového ochorenia. Tieto úlohy onkologickej praxe vyžadujú využiť celé spektrum súčasného metodického inštrumentária patológie – od morfológie cez štúdium fenotypu až po analýzu genotypových vlastností nádorových buniek v rámci tzv. molekulovej patológie.

THE ROLE AND LIMITS OF PATHOLOGY IN ONCOLOGY

The aim of the review article is to analyze and summarize the role and limits of the modern pathology within the tumor´s disease diagnostic procedure, by the considerations of its optimal therapeutic managment, as well as during the follow up of the disease. These requirements of the oncologic praxis cause the necessity to apply a complete methodologic instrumentary of the modern pathology – from morphologic analysis to the phenotypic studies and tumor cells´ genotypic analysis using the framework of the molecular pathology.
