Slabinová prietrž je jedným z najčastejších, chirurgicky riešených ochorení. V súčasnosti existujú mnohé etablované chirurgické postupy riešenia slabinovej prietrže, používané v závislosti od kultúrnych rozdielov medzi chirurgmi, od rozličných systémov zdravotnej starostlivosti, ako aj možností financovania a logistického zabezpečenia. V záujme zabezpečenia čo najlepšieho možného výsledku operácií, existujú viaceré odporúčania, tieto sú však vydané viacerými odbornými spoločnosťami, pričom rozsahom prekračujú stovky strán. Snahou autorov bola syntéza jednotlivých odporúčaní a ich stručná a jasná prezentácia v jednotlivých bodoch tak, aby bola ich implementácia v praxi čo najjasnejšia a najjednoduchšia. Článok je pre svoj rozsah rozdelený na dve časti, pričom druhá časť sa zaoberá okultnými prietržami, úlohou jednodňovej chirurgie v chirurgii prietrží, typmi a charakteristikami sieťok a ich fixácií, antibiotickou profylaxiou, typom anestézie, prevenciou a liečbou skorej pooperačnej bolesti, rekonvalescenciou, špecifikami slabinových prietrží u žien, stehennými prietržami, prevenciou a liečbou komplikácií vrátane chronickej bolesti, recidivujúcimi prietržami a urgentnou operatívou v chirurgii slabinových prietrží.

Current standards of surgical treatment of inguinal hernias. Part two
Inguinal hernia is one of the most common, surgically treated pathologies. Today, large variations in treatments result from cultural differences amongst surgeons, different reimbursement systems and differences in resources and logistical capabilities. With intention of securing the best possible clinical outcome, several guidelines exist. These guidelines were published by various surgical societies, containing hundreds of pages of content. Intentions of the authors was to synthetize current guidelines and present them in a clear and simple fashion in order for the easy implementation in practice. Regarding the extent of an article, it was divided into two parts. Second part addresses occult hernias, place of day surgery in hernia surgery, types, characteristics and usage of meshes, fixation of meshes, antibiotic prophylaxis, anesthesia, postoperative complications including chronic pain, convalescence, groin hernia in female, femoral hernia, recurrent hernia, and emergency treatment of groin hernia.
