Liečba dekubitov a nehojacich sa rán metódou riadeného podtlaku (Negative Pressure Wound Therapy, NPWT) podporuje hojenie rán prostredníctvom kontrolovanej aplikácie negatívneho tlaku v oblasti defektu. Systém pozostáva z výplňového materiálu, evakuačného drénu a počítačom riadenej podtlakovej pumpy so zbernou nádobou na exsudát. Terapia riadeným podtlakom predstavuje etablovanú terapeutickú modalitu v liečbe zle hojacich sa rán vrátane dekubitov, ulcerácií a infikovaných defektov. Autori prezentujú prehľad základných princípov a klinického využitia NPWT pri liečbe dekubitov na príklade štvorročnej pacientky hospitalizovanej na Klinike detí a dorastu UPJŠ LF a DFN v Košiciach.

What a pediatrician needs to know about treatment of pressure ulcers in children
Negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT) promotes wound healing through the controlled application of negative pressure to the wound site. The system consists of a wound filler material, an evacuation drain, and a computer-controlled vacuum pump with a fluid collection canister for exudate removal. NPWT represents an established therapeutic modality in the management of poorly healing wounds, including pressure ulcers, ulcerations, and infected wound defects. The authors present an overview of the principles of clinical use of NPWT in the treatment of decubitus on the example of a 4-year-old patient hospitalized at the Department of pediatrics and adolescent medicine, UPJŠ Faculty of medicine and Children’s faculty hospital Košice.
