Přehled diagnostiky a terapie infekcí močových cest u pacientů s roztroušenou sklerózou

Infekce močových cest (IMC) mohou mít zásadní vliv na průběh a prognózu pacientů s roztroušenou sklerózou (RS). V běžné praxi se s nimi denně potýkají lékaři, kteří mají tyto pacienty v péči. Přesto stále chybí jednoznačné doporučení, kterým by se měli urologové, neurologové a praktičtí lékaři řídit. Následující přehled se zabývá touto problematikou, včetně diagnostiky a terapie IMC u pacientů s RS.

Overview of diagnosis and treatment of urinary tract infections in patients with multiple sclerosis

Urinary tract infections (UTIs) can have a profound effect on the course and prognosis of patients with multiple sclerosis (MS). In routine practice, they are encountered on a daily basis by the physicians in charge of these patients. However, there is still lacking an unequivocal recommendation that urologists, neurologists, and general practitioners should follow. The present review deals with this issue, including the diagnosis and treatment of UTIs in patients with MS.
