Využití mirtazapinu v klinické praxi

Mirtazapin patří mezi antidepresiva s duálním účinkem (NaSSA), ovlivňuje serotonergní a noradrenergní neurotransmisi. Jedná se o antidepresivum s vysokou účinností v léčbě deprese – srovnatelnou nebo vyšší než u ostatních antidepresiv. Dále se od ostatních antidepresiv liší nástupem účinku a profilem nežádoucích účinků. Cílem článku je podat bližší informace o mirtazapinu a ukázat, pro jaký typ pacientů je vhodnou léčebnou volbou.

Mirtazapine in clinical practice

Mirtazapine belongs to antidepressants with a dual mechanism of action (NaSSAs), influencing serotonergic and noradrenergic neurotransmission. It is an antidepressant with a high efficacy in the treatment of depression. The efficacy of mirtazapine is comparable with or higher than that of other antidepressants. It is different in the onset of action and in the profile of adverse events. The aim of this article is to provide more information about this antidepressant and describe the type of patients who are suitable for this medication.
