Onemocnění štítné žlázy v psychiatrické praxi

V psychiatrické praxi se poměrně často setkáváme s onemocněními štítné žlázy. Jedná se o pacienty, u kterých v rámci diferenciální diagnostiky náhodně odhalíme změněnou funkci štítnice nebo dochází u již léčených pacientů ke zhoršování psychických potíží vlivem dekompenzace tyreoidální funkce. Poruchy funkce štítné žlázy jsou plně v kompetenci péče endokrinologů, nicméně řada nespecifických potíží spojených s nadprodukcí či nedostatečnou produkcí štítnice probíhá pod obrazem psychických obtíží, se kterými se pacienti dostávají do péče psychiatra.

Thyropathy in psychiatry practice

There are many symptoms of thyropathy which are psychiatric too. That means anxiety, mood changes, exhaustion, weight changes, cardiovascular symptoms etc. It´s necessary to think it over very carefully during the differential diagnosis or during the treatment of psychiatric diseases. This article contains three very typical cases of our patients together with monitoring of 822 patients of our own practice about presence or absence of thyropathy. Our results showed that about 15% of psychiatry patient has also some kind of thyropathy disease. So the cooperation with endocrinologist and correct treatment of thyropathy is necessary for the successful recover.
