ANTIHISTAMINIKÁ V KLINICKEJ PRAXI PEDIATRA

Antihistaminiká patria celosvetovo k skupine najčastejšie predpisovaných liekov. Sú prakticky nenahraditeľné pri liečbe alergie. V posledných rokoch sa urobil veľký pokrok v poznaní ich molekulových mechanizmov účinku, rozšírilo sa klinické využitie a rozpoznali sa viaceré vedľajšie účinky. Podstatne bezpečnejšie a účinnejšie sú antihistaminiká 2. generácie, o ktorých máme veľké množstvo dobre zdokumentovaných klinických a farmakologických údajov.

ANTIHISTAMINES IN PEDIATRIC CLINICAL PRACTICE

Antihistamines are among the most widely prescribed drugs worldwide. They are nearly irreplaceable in the treatment of allergy. Since the discovery of antihistamines substantial progress has been made in understanding the molecular mechanisms of action. Concurrently new therapeutic indications have opened and new adverse effects have been identified. Second generation antihistamines are considered far much safer and effective, about which we have hundreds of well documented clinical and pharmacological data.
