Cerebrálna amyloidná angiopatia je charakterizovaná depozíciou beta-amyloidu v stene kortikálnych a leptomeningeálnych artérií a arteriol. Ochorenie sa najčastejšie vyskytuje v sporadickej forme, ktorej incidencia stúpa s vekom. Zriedkavejšia je hereditárna forma so skorším nástupom klinickej symptomatiky. Najvýznamnejšími dôsledkami ochorenia sú rekurentné lobárne intracerebrálne hemorágie, u časti pacientov je taktiež možné pozorovať prehlbujúci sa kognitívny deficit až dementný syndróm. Autori na kazuistike 76-ročného pacienta s rekurentnými intracerebrálnymi hemorágiami a dementným syndrómom demonštrujú súčasné možnosti diagnostiky, prevencie a liečby amyloidnej cerebrálnej angiopatie.

Kľúčové slová: cerebrálna amyloidná angiopatia, rekurentné intracerebrálne hemorágie, kognitívny deficit.

Cerebral amyloid angiopathy

Cerebral amyloid angiopathy is characterized by amyloid deposition in the walls of cortical and leptomeningeal arteries and arterioles. Disorder occurs most frequently as a sporadic form in the elderly. Incidence of sporadic form increases with advancing age. Hereditary forms are earlier in onset. The most important clinical consequence of the disease are recurrent lobar intracerebral hemorrhages. Progressive cognitive impairment and dementia can also be present. In a case report of 76-year-old patient with recurrent intracerebral hemorrhage and dementia authors present current options of diagnostics, prevention and treatment of cerebral amyloid angiopathy.

Keywords: cerebral amyloid angiopathy, recurrent intracerebral hemorrhages, cognitive impairment.
