Current view and surgical treatment of papilla Vateri tumors
Mechanical icterus is the first clinical symptom of Vater papilla tumors. Neoplasms arising in the area of the papilla of Vater are rare. The most common benign lesions are ampullomas and papillomas, which can be a part of biliary papillomatosis. Carcinoma, the most often adenocarcinoma type, is very rare but one of the most aggressive tumors of the gastrointestinal tract. Their treatment consists of the surgical resection and subsequent reconstruction of the continuity of the gastrointestinal tract.
