Vitamín D a sexuálne zdravie mužov

Vitamin D has come to the forefront of urology, andrology and sexology in the last decade. Evidence suggests that its deficiency is associated with impaired erectile function, suboptimal sperm parameters, and changes in the androgen profile, but study results are heterogeneous and causality remains uncertain. This review summarizes the current epidemiology of hypovitaminosis D in men, explains the pathophysiological connections between vitamin D and erectile dysfunction, male infertility and hypogonadism, points out diagnostic procedures, differential diagnosis and therapeutic options including prospective innovations. The article offers practical recommendations for urologists, general practitioners, and other specialties.
