Lights and shadows of experimental bariatric operations
Bariatric surgery is currently the most effective method for treating severe obesity. Standard procedures are well defined, while those for which long-term outcomes are not yet known are classified as innovative or experimental. In this paper, we present such procedures that once inspired hope but failed to deliver long-term results comparable to standard techniques.
