Burns – diagnosis, initial treatment, treatment
The purpose of this review article is to briefly describe the complexity of burn injury and the difficulty of its treatment. We emphasize pre-hospital, dressing care and fluid resuscitation, with which doctors of various specialties in emergency department or intensive care unit can most often encounter. In conclusion, we appeal to the professional public with the need for consultation of burn cases, which should be concentrated in burn centres and has a basis in the legislation of the Slovak Republic.
