Chronic urticaria

Chronic urticaria (CU) is defined as the presence of urticarial wheals for more than 6 weeks with or without angioedema. It is divided into chronic inducible urticaria and chronic spontaneous urticaria (CSU), both of which significantly negatively affect the patient’s quality of life. The following article provides an overview of the topic with an emphasis on the epidemiology, pathogenesis, diagnostic workup and treatment options of the disease.
