What are the principles of complex cardiac rehabilitation in heart failure patients?
The complex cardiac rehabilitation (CCR) as therapeutic and preventive method in heart failure (HF) patients improves many predictors of prognosis: functional capacity, quality of life, reduces cardiac mortality and hospital readmissions due to HF, disability, reduces treatment costs and it is very cost effective when compared to other treatments. CCR is nonpharmacological therapy, which consists of physical exercise training, education, counselling and reduction of risk factors as integral part of the comprehensive HF management. CCR is safe and effective. It is necessary as a primary and secondary prevention strategy for cardiac diseases.
