Classification of the chronic venous disease
Chronic venous disease belong to the most common chronic conditions in the industrialized countries, where the disease is present in two thirds of inhabitants and in older age has this disease almost everyone. Classification is an important tool for meaningful communication among medical doctors of various specializations. CEAP classification is today used worldwide and it evaluates the patients according the clinical (C), etiologic (E), anatomic (A) and pathophysiologic (P) presentation. Clinical classification is done generally by general practioner, etiologic, anatomic and pathophysiologic classification is largely the task for specialists (angiologist, vascular surgeon), who have adequate equipment, have the possibility of precise diagnostic and adequate treatment.
