Extrakt z Pygeum africanum v terapii benigní hyperplazie prostaty

Extract of Pygeum africanum for the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia Within the PhD study a group of men with symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia was established. The objectification of symptoms was evaluated applying international prostatic score (IPSS) with assessment of quality of life (QoL), by performing uroflowmetry (UFM), digital rectal examination (DRE), transrectal ultrasonography (TRUS) and by determination of PSA levels. The group of 300 men was divided into 6 subgroups of 50 men in order to be statistically comparable. Each group was treated by one of registered drugs for therapy of BPH. The author reports on the group of men treated with the extract of Pygeum africanum (Tadenan). Key words: Pygeum africanum, benign hyperplasia of prostate.
