Co by měl urolog vědět o chlamydiových infekcích – přehled současného stavu
What should urologist know about chlamydial infections Chlamydia trachomatis is most frequent sexually transmitted bacterial pathogen in developed countries. She is source of urogenital and ocular infections with manifestation of arthritis, perihepatitis and proctitis. Chlamydia pneumoniae provokes chronic pulmonary obstructive disease and arthritis. Now relation to atherosclerosis, bronchogenic cancer and some of disease of CNS is investigated. We apply direct culture, detection of antigens and nuclear acid both with serologic examinations in laboratory diagnostic methods. Macrolids, tetracyclines and fluoroquinolones are favorite for treatment due their good intracellulary penetration and antichlamydial effect. Prevention and screening for risk groups is necessary.
