Antibiotická léčba nozokomiálních infekcí močového traktu

Antibiotic therapy of nosocomial urinary tract infections Nosocomial urinary tract infections are caused mostly by urethral catheterization and an important factor in this is its duration. The Escherichia coli and Enterococcus sp. strains are the most important aetiological agents. Furthermore, the Pseudomonas sp., Proteus sp., Providencia sp., Morganella sp., Klebsiella sp. and Staphylococcus sp. strains can play an aetiological role. Aminopenicillins combined with aminoglycosides or aminopenicillins with inhibitors of bacterial beta-lactamases can be used as the drugs of first choice. It must be stressed that the regimens of antibiotic therapy used are influenced by the frequency of occurrence of the bacterial pathogens and their resistance to antibiotics in the given hospital department in a given period of time. Key words: nosocomial urinary infections, antibiotic therapy.
