Facial rejuvenation using PDO threads
Thread lift is a non-surgical, minimally invasive aesthetic technique that is used in combination with surgical procedures or alone in the SMAS layer. Precise implantation and thread material are key to optimal lifting effect and minimizing complications. Modern absorbable threads (PDO, PLLA, PCL) and hybrid copolymers P(LA/CL) allow combining immediate mechanical effect with long-term dermis remodeling by stimulating neocollagenesis and improving skin elasticity. Current material innovations enable microencapsulated release of hyaluronic acid, with controlled degradation and biostimulating effects. Clinical practice requires the correct choice of thread type, material used and implantation technique. This strategy is crucial for safe, effective and long-term sustainable facial rejuvenation.
