Some Results of Long-Term Research ObservationS of Foster-Families In the paper there are summed up the results of long-term psychological observation of 100 children in foster-care. In accordance with the results of similar research-works carried out in the Czech Republic it has been proved that psychic deprivation is reparable to a larger extent than it was presented in professional literature at the beginning of the research (1970). Fostering is a very demanding form of parentship. The foster-family can fully develop its therapeutic functions only under conditions of social recognition and support as well as complex professional care in which a pediatrician together with a psychologist and a social worker plays an important part. Key words: foster-care, psychic deprivation, reparability of psychic deprivation, child abuse and neglect (CAN).
