Vliv výživy na riziko vzniku diabetes mellitus 1. typu

Dietary factors and risk of type 1 diabetes Type 1 diabetes mellitus is an autoimmune disease resulting from the destruction of pancreatic beta cells. The direct trigger of that immune reaction is still unknown. It is multifactorial disease, in its genesis are participating interactions of genetic background and environmental factors. One of the most researched environmentals factors except of viral infections and vacination is the nutrition. There was documented certain protective influence of breastfeeding, some vitamins and minerals in some studies, on the other side as risky was shown cow’s milk, gluten, N-nitrosamines and some somatic parameters. The otcoume of studies varies and none of mentioned associations was proven to be causative. Current large nutritional interventional study TRIGR (Trial to Reduce IDDM in the Genetically at Risk) focused on the cow’s milk role in DM1 development could give the first clear answer.
