Terapie akutních kojeneckých gastroenteritid
Treatment of Acute Suckling Gastroenteritis Gastroenteritis in sucklings is still a frequent reason for treatment in both outpatients’ and in hospitals. The reason for every admission to hospital is either a severe course of the illnes and subsequent complications or an acute presentation such as a disorder of water and mineral metabolism. In the article the approaches to the therapy of the most frequently occurring infectious gastroenteritis are introduced. A holistic assesment of the health status of the child with a simultaneous laboratory investigation will give an overall picture of the severity of dehydratation and will help in the choice of a suitable treatment and dietetic approach which may be applicable to both the outpatients’ department and to the hospital itself.
