Synkopy – diagnostické postupy, terapie – 2. část
Syncope – diagnostic management and therapy – part 2 During the diagnostic evaluation of orthostatic dysregulations and syncope we obtain a detailed history and clinical examination of the patient in order to exclude any serious cardiological or neurological disorders. If either of these conditions is subsequently suspected other specific examinations, defining our diagnostic conclusions and therapeutic modalities, are helpful. Modifications of lifestyle and physical exercise are suitable modes of therapy for syncope which predominantly occurs via a vasovagal reflex. If these precautions fail drug therapy is then commenced. Cardiological and neurological symptoms, as well as syncope with a known cause, require causative therapy. Key words: syncope, diagnosis, pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapy.
