Pinworm The authors introduce the most frequent occurring organism causing intestinal nematode infections in our country – the pinworm (Enterobius vermicularis). Clinical manifestations of enterobiasis/oxyuriasis, experience in diagnosis (including photographic documentation) and therapeutical options are being described. A table is presented, in which official statistic data of reports of positive findings of pinworm infections in examined persons, epidemiological reports of diagnosed enterobiasis from EPIDAT system and information on real consumption of pyrvinium in Czech Republic from 1997-2000 are being compared.
