Prevence zubního kazu již v kojeneckém věku?
SHOULD PREVENTION OF TOOTH DECAY START IN INFANCY? The effectiveness of prevention of caries in infancy could be significantly influenced by two factors: the first is represented by the parents’ interest in their own oral hygiene and thus an anticipated adequate care of their infant’s; the second factor is the amount of information on how tooth decay could be prevented. The dentist is responsible for supplying the most accurate, up-to-date information about tooth decay, and for the mode of communication of this information. A dental appointment is therefore very important, as early as during pregnancy, and regular check-ups of the chaperoned infant is a must. Tooth decay of the temporary dentition can be prevented by consistent oral hygiene, precautions in dietary intake and by fluoride supplementation, through cooperation between the pediatrician and the dentist when warranted.
