Anorexia nervosa and its concequences in paediatrics

Anorexia nervosa (AN) is a psychosomatic eating disorder occurring mostly in adolescent girls and young women. The incidence is 1 %. The criteria for diagnosis include intense fear of becoming obese, weight loss of at least 25 % of normal weight for age and height disturbance of body image, amenorrhea. The most important assumption of a successful psychotherapy is a nutritional rehabilitation and increase of body weight.
