HYPERLIPIDEMIE U DĚTÍ

Hyperlipidaemia in childern Dyslipoproteinemia, the general term for abnormal levels of lipids in the blood, reflects changes in lipoprotein transport and metabolism. Primary dyslipoproteinemias differ in their clinical manifestations, prognosis, and response to treatment. Secondary dyslipoproteinemias may be associated with different diseases. Those which present with significant hypercholesterolemia, elevated level of LDL-cholesterol and low level of HDL-cholesterol, play important role in atherogenesis. Hypertriglyceridemia may cause attacks of abdominal pain, pancreatitis, and hepatomegaly. Dietary regulation remains the primary therapeutic approach in children.
