Dětský autizmus na rozhraní

Child autism on the boundary Child autism as a pervasive developmental disorder attacks social interaction, communication skills and interests of autistic children. Arising number of papers on national Czech and Slovak board brings near the topics of autistic disorders to the health and pedagogical professionals. These papers present appropriate pharmacotherapy and personal knowledge in case-reports. The recent article by Propper (2) should be mentioned. General paediatricians, child psychiatrists, psychologists, neurologists, special educators and other experts are involved in the complex management of autistic children. Presented overview tries to give clear directions for general paediatricians to maintain appropriate management according to needs and contemporary trends. Paediatricians could diagnose autistic disorder, give first contacts and recommendations to families, and they could, in fact, essentially inspire progress of autistic children and their neighbourhood.
