Late treatment-related toxicity in germ cell tumors
Testicular germ cell tumors represent a unique model of a curable malignancy, with ten-year survival rates exceeding 95% and an exceptional response to chemotherapy. Multimodal treatment, including surgery, radiotherapy, and cisplatin-based chemotherapy, achieves high cure rates even in patients with metastatic disease. However, as the population of long-term young male survivors continues to grow, increasing attention is being directed toward the late toxic effects of treatment, which can substantially affect long-term quality of life.
