Epiduo Forte – review and case reports from clinical practise

Acne vulgaris is one of the most common chronic inflammatory skin diseases involving multiple pathogenic mechanisms. The fixed combination of the retinoid adapalene and benzoyl peroxide represents the gold standard in topical acne therapy. The overview is based on the key clinical properties of Epiduo Forte, supported by evidence from clinical trials and expert recommendations. It is complemented by two patient case reports from the author’s own clinical practice, documenting its effectiveness and benefits in real-world dermatological settings. The higher concentration of adapalene (0.3%) in combination with a fixed dose of benzoyl peroxide (2.5%) provides a rapid and significant reduction of both inflammatory and non-inflammatory lesions, improvement in the Investigator Global Assessment (IGA) score, prevention of scarring, and a favorable safety profile. In patients with moderate to severe non-scarring acne, it represents an effective topical therapeutic option accompanied by good tolerability and a high level of adherence. Epiduo Forte is a modern, effective, and evidence-based topical therapy for acne that allows a more targeted intervention in disease pathogenesis, supports patient adherence, and minimizes the risk of antimicrobial resistance.
