Atopic dermatitis – what should we know!
Multifactorial disease arises as a consequence of complex interaction gene-gene and gene-environment. Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a chronic inflammatory skin disease, one of the troublesome features is its chronic relapsing nature and the need for long-term therapy. Reduction of itching and inflammation is one of the most effective therapeutic strategies. Latest finding in pathophysiology of atopic dermatitis might be helpful for a subclassification of patients with AD and introducing of individualized treatment approaches of AD. The ignorance and not recognition of trigger factors do limit the therapeutic success in spite of new knowledge.
