Specificity of transfusion therapy in geriatric trauma
Guidelines for management of severe trauma, haemorrhage control and traumatic coagulopathy were done on the basis of data from treatment of younger adults. However there is a question if these types of protocols derived from data of younger adult treatment are appropriate for using on management of bleeding and coagulopathy in geriatric trauma. The objective of this review is to show specificity of transfusion therapy in geriatric patients and, on the basis of recent scientific literature review, suggest treatment guidelines modification for seniors suffered trauma.
