Multiple sclerosis and pregnancy Multiple sclerosis is a chronic disorder that manifests in childbearing age. Counseling all women of childbearing age on family planning and conception planning should be the part of comprehensive care for a patient with multiple sclerosis. In general, pregnancy should be planned in the period of clinical and MRI stability. The disease itself does not directly affect fertility and does not accelerate the progression of disability. Pregnancy for most women is uncomplicated.
