Endokrinné a metabolické účinky fyzického tréningu pacientov s hypogonadizmom
Endocrine and metabolic effects of exercise in patients with hypogonadism
Chronic low testosterone levels increase the risk of various metabolic, cardiovascular and other chronic diseases later in life. Testosterone- replacement therapy is typically used in these patients and can alleviate many symptoms as well as reduce health risks. Besides testosterone-replacement therapy, exercise has been shown to have a great potential in the therapy of hypogonadism. Specifically, resistance training can not only improve physical capability and body composition of a patient, but it seems to have a potential for positive changes in the spectrum of biochemical and endocrine parameters and sensitivity to testosterone-replacement therapy. Therefore, based on the observations of us and others, a supervised combined resistance and endurance training from 2 to 4 times per week can be recommended in patients with hypogonadism.
