Diferenciálna diagnostika lymfadenopatie na krku
Lymphadenopathy represents a heterogeneous group of diseases. Enlargement of lymph nodes can be caused by a wide range of infectious, malignant, autoimmune and metabolic diseases. In differential diagnosis, others non-lymphatic pathologies presenting as a neck mass, such as congenital anomalies, benign or malignant tumors of soft tissues, have to be distinguished. Cervical lymphadenopathy is a frequent reason of general practitioner´s (GP’s) visit. GP needs to determine whether the resistance of neck is really lymphadenopathy and, in particular, to differentiate benign versus malignant etiology of lymphadenopathy.
