Antiseptics and other drugs for sore throat

A sore throat is a painful, dry, or scratchy feeling in the throat. Pain in the throat is one of the most common symptoms. Most sore throats are caused by infections (bacterial or viral), or by environmental factors like dry air. Sore throats are divided into types, based on the part of the throat they affect – pharyngitis, tonsillitis and laryngitis. Causes of sore throats range from infections to injuries – it can be colds, the flu, and other viral infections, bacterial infections, allergies, dry air, smoke (active or passive) and other irritants, injury, gastroesophageal reflux disease and tumour. The drug of first choice are laryngologics-antiseptics drugs.
