The occurance of fungi and yeasts in the resection materials of patients underwent surgery for Crohn´s disease
Crohn´s disease is an inflammatory bowel disease of unknown etiology. The etiopathogenesis as a part of microbiological theory indicates the occurence of fungi and yeasts. In immunosuppressed patients, the presence of Candida albicans in the gut lumen as well, but in growth of fungi and yeasts and their presence in peritoneal cavity, suggesting their role in the etiopathogenesis of Crohn´s disease also.
