Recurrent mesenchymal tumors of retroperitoneum
The most often recurrent mesenchymal tumours of retroperitoneum are liposarcoma, fibrosarcoma, hemangiopericytoma, malignant schwannoma, extragastrointestinal GIST and high malignant types of sarcomas, especially desmoplastic small round cell tumor (DSRCT). We present group of patients operated on at the Department of Surgery in F. D. Roosevelt Hospital in Banská Bystrica during period 2000-2016 due to recurrency of mesenchymal tumor of retroperitoneum. Recurrent tumors are demonstrated on particular cases. Results show the necessity of radicality of the surgical procedure including multivisceral resection as well as the necessity to follow the patients very often. Required is also readiness of surgeon to solve tumor recurrency in time.
