Rare migration of Kirschner wire after osteosynthesis of proximal humeral fracture
The percutaneus osteosynthesis with Kirschner wires in the treatment of proximal humeral fractures was most common type of operation in this region. Despite of introduction of more modern metods it is still popular on several departments and often used due to its simplicity, fast realisation and inexpensiveness. The sceptical view of the operative treatment of proximal humeral fracture, especially in group of geriatric patients. In our case report we present 69 years old woman, who was treated due to proximal humeral fracture by percutaneus osteosynthesis with two wires. In short time after surgery appears migration of one wire throught the chest into the throat with jeopardising of important anatomical structures. Fortunately there was no damaging of them and no negative sequel of this complication.
