Metaplastic carcinoma of breast – case report

Breast cancer currently belongs to the most common malignant diseases of female population. The incidence of malignancy increases mainly among older women in their 50s and 70s, but in recent years breast cancer occurs lot more frequently also in younger population of women before the age of thirty. Due to high incidence and mortality of this disease, screening methods and early diagnosis are of considerable importance for timely and adequate treatment. Metaplastic breast cancer is a rare, but very aggresive type of tumor. It is a rapidly growing malignancy with histological heterogenity and triple negative receptor status. In our case report we describe a case of 62-year-old female patient acutely hospitalized at I. surgical clinic of UPJŠ LF and UNLP Košice with advanced exulcerated metaplastic carcinoma of left breast.
