Laparoscopic bisegmentectomy for symptomatic hepatic hemangioma

Solid benign tumors were one of the first indications for laparoscopic liver resection. Indications for surgic therapy of liver hemangiomas include the presence of abdominal symptoms, risk of rupture, progression of growth during follow-up, Kasabach-Merritt syndrome, and risk of uncertain diagnosis. In the article, the authors present the experience with the management of symptomatic hemangioma of the left liver lobe. At the first stage, the patient underwent selective embolization of the hemangioma, and subsequently, due to the lack of effect, laparoscopic bisegmentectomy was performed in the second phase.
