Continuation and maintenance electroconvulsive therapy

Electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) is one of the basic treatment methods in psychiatry. It is highly effective and has a relatively wide range of indications. It is usually indicated three times a week in the acute phase; a continuous or maintenance phase of administration can follow it. The main goal is the prevention of relapse - or recurrence, especially in drug-resistant or rapidly relapsing disease courses
