Therapy of acute upper respiratory tract infections
Acute upper respiratory tract infections affect both children and adults and for their frequency represent a serious health and socioeconomic problem. The main goal of treatment for these infections is to alleviate symptoms, shorten the duration of illness, avoid complications, and reduce school or work absenteeism. The following brief overview lists the groups of drugs that are often recommended or prescribed for patients with acute upper respiratory infections, with an emphasis on evidence-based medicine.
