Pseudoperitonitis and acidosis of the central nervous system in diabetic ketoacidosis. Case reports
Diabetic ketoacidosis is the most serious acute complication of diabetes that can be life-threatening. Diagnosis of this condition may be complicated by a symptom that imitates a sudden abdominal event. Bicarbonate administration in diabetic ketoacidosis can lead to severe changes in the internal environment and brain edema. The treatment of these conditions is complex, standardized and at the same time complicated. The administration of bicarbonate remains discussed. The aim of the article is to present to pediatricians the possibility of developing these conditions during the treatment of diabetic ketoacidosis.
