Cardiac causes of pediatric chest pain
Although, chest pain is a common symptom in pediatric population, cardiac ethiology in children is identified only in 1-4% of cases. After heart murmur, it is second most common reason for refferal to a pediatric cardiologist. The objective of this article is to review the panel of cardiac causes of pediatric chest pain and to emphasize the role of history and physical examination in differential diagnosis and identification of patients with suspicious cardiac chest pain.
