DIFFERENTIAL DIAGNOSTICS OF HYPOGLYCEMIA IN NEWBORN PERIOD AND CHILDHOOD

Hypoglycemia is frequent acute disturbance of intermedial metabolism in children. While in newborn period is most common transient hypoglycemia, in childhood is hypoglycemia presented as prolongated. There are two great groups of reason of hypoglycemia: endocrine disorders and inherited metabolic disease. Therapy must be promptly with goal to establish and care euglycemia. Taking of biological material in time hypoglycemia include investigation of hormonal status and selective metabolic screening. Each hypoglycemia itself is able to show disturbation of brain development.
