Diagnostics of hearing of newborns and children − Part II Pedaudiology in children aged 0–4 years
The aim of this study is to provide the paediatricians with a brief survey on procedures how to proceed at suspicion of hearing impairment in children aged 0 – 4 years and to inform them about the importance of particular examinations. The authors discuss objective and subjective methods applied in pedaudiology at present and emphasize the importance of interdisciplinary cooperation at detection of hearing impairment. They inform about the genesis of the Centre for children with hearing impairment at the ENT department of the Medical Faculty at Comenius University and the National Institute of Children´s Diseases in Bratislava.
