Rare epithelial breast cancers Rare breast tumors are present in less than 2% of all breast tumors. The prognosis of some rare breast cancer subtypes is better than prognosis of common breast cancer types however the subtypes with poor prognosis exist, as well. The treatment of rare breast malignant lesions is frequently controversial due to the absence of trials determining optimal treatment management. The treatment of rare breast tumors is thus similar to the treatment of common breast tumor types. This article is a review of rare epithelial breast tumors.
