Utilization of standard diagnostic procedures for successful mammography screening in SR

Ministry of Health of the Slovak Republic according to §9a par. 7, Act no. 578/2004 Coll. on Healthcare Providers, Healthcare Professionals, Healthcare Professional Organizations, as amended, published in the Special Bulletin of February 1, 2019 Standard Procedures for Performing Medical Radiation in the Diagnosis or Treatment in radiology. The purpose of standard procedures in the field of radiology is to standardize procedures for performing medical exposure also in the field of Screening mammography. This standard procedure for breast cancer screening has been issued in accordance with § 4 par. 3 of Act no. 576/2004 Coll. on Health care services related to the provision of health care and supplementing acts, as amended. The purpose of the present publication is to point out the importance of the standard diagnostic approach in creating conditions for implementation of mammography screening as a tool for improving the patient‘s health care. At the same time, compliance with the standard diagnostic approach will support the quality with respect to the detection of the early stage breast cancer.
