Malígny melanóm konečníka – kazuistika

Malignant melanoma of the rectum – case report Purpose: Primary malignant melanoma of the rectum is extremely rare disorder presented with rectal bleeding. Diagnosis is established by endoscopy and confirmed by immunohistochemistry. This disease is usually diagnosed in an advanced state. Treatment is surgical, but there is no consensus at this moment on which surgical approach is preffered. Because the presence of only a few cases, the optimal management of this disease is inconclusive. Case: In our article we present the case of 55-year-old woman with malignant melanoma of the rectum. Conclusion: Malignant melanoma of the rectum is a rare disease. Prompt diagnosis and adequate treatment based on a multidisciplinary approach are essential for another fate of the patient. Unfortunately, it is a disease with high malignant potential and the overall survival of patients with malignant rectal melanoma is very low.
